The Whitlams have released 6 albums and received Australian Record Industry Awards for Best Group, Best Song and Best Independent Release.

The band was formed in 1992 and originally consisted of Tim Freedman (lead vocals, piano), Stevie Plunder (lead vocals, guitar) and Andy Lewis (double bass, backing vocals). The lineup has changed many times over the years with Tim the only consistent member of the band, not to mention the only original member still alive.

However, the current lineup has remained unchanged for the last 7 years and 4 albums, and consists Tim Freedman on piano and vocals, Jak Housden on guitar, Warwick Hornby on bass guitar and Terepai Richmond on drums.

One of Australia's favourite bands, and a groundbreaking Independent artist in this country, The Whitlams’ appeal reaches audiences of all ages and tastes. With lyrics described as having a “charming cynicism” and enhanced by an instinct for poignant melody, they won Best Group at the 1998 ARIA Awards, as well as Song of the Year and Best Independent Release for their 3rd album Eternal Nightcap.

As if that wasn’t enough, who could forget them topping the triple j Hottest 100 in 1997 with No Aphrodisiac, holding off Blur’s Song 2, The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony, and, err, Chumbawamba!

As a measure of their continued success, fifth album Torch The Moon debuted at Number 1 and became the third consecutive Whitlams album to go platinum. Most recent studio album Little Cloud, produced by J. Walker of Machine Translations, is available on Black Yak Records through Warner Music.

This course will cover experimental printing using found objects, which will be used ro make collagraph
print plate. Whilst this is drying, students will learn cutting  methods, saftey, use of collars, ink application and
use of foam board and lino. After lunch students will print the Collagraph plate and have plenty of time to print off 
some greeting cards or small artworks too! This is a fun and very creative workshop with which to get started and
will give a taste to thosen who are keen to continue with more detailed print methods at a future course.
All printing materials are supplied, a student list of handy items to bring along to class will be provided upon enrolment.

It is a great family day out with lots of entertainment, activities and stalls. Our pet parade has become famous in the local area and features entrant categories including cutest pet, most unusual pet and best costume. A number of children's activities including face painting, Easter Bonnets and the jumping castle are all only gold coin entry. Entry to the pet parade and sandcastle competition are free. The local volunteer fire brigade provide a great cook up and the Myalup Community Association provide scrumptious fair at their cafe.

This national program helps men and women living with cancer to improve their appearance
and self-esteem by teaching beauty techniques to camouflage the appearance-related side-effects
of cancer treatment. During the 2 hour workshop, under the guidance of experienced and specially trained 
volunteers, clients are shown how to deal with changes that may occur during their treatment (loss of hair,
eyebrows and eyelashes, redness and dryness of the skin, facial weight gain or loss) through the use of skincare, make-up, wigs

Whether it is training towards your first Avon Descent or taking in the amazing local flora and fauna, there will be a group with the same vision to participate in a safe and enjoyable activity.
