Boddington

Rustic Boddington snuggles cosily between rolling hills of forests and farms on the banks of the picturesque Hotham River. Around an hour’s drive from Mandurah, Boddington links conveniently with Dwellingup, Pinjarra and North Dandalup for a most attractive one-day scenic drive. Combining old fashioned country charm with farming and mining prosperity, around half of Boddington Shire is state forest (predominantly Jarrah and Marri) - ideal for hiking, camping, picnics, bird watching and wildflowers in spring. The caravan park on the banks of the Hotham River is a lovely place to stay, just two minutes walk to the town centre. In the Boddington area you'll also find Farm Stays and Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

A 2km walk trail along the river provides wheelchair access between the caravan park and Ranford Pool, a favourite fishing, birdwatching and picnic place. Another favourite picnic and fishing spot is Lions Weir closer to town. Fishing is great in spring or autumn in the deep pools of the river. Red fin perch and cobbler (catfish), along with marron (freshwater crayfish) are caught in season. For horse enthusiasts, the Region's equine activities culminate in an exciting weekend mardis gras and rodeo held in Boddington each November.
