Through the combination of skilled hard working hands and lush fertile land, Mandurah and the Peel Region have become home to some of Western Australia’s premium local produce providers. At the right time of year you can take a picnic with you (or have one made up) as you stroll through some of the 150 hectares of matured vines in the Peel Region. Dropping in to the right winery on a Sunday in December could find you amidst the famous Jazz at Peel event and making use of the ample parks and BBQ facilities for a relaxing day out.
The Peel Region is particularly renowned for its Chenin Blanc and Shiraz, however Chardonnay, Verdelho and Cabernet Sauvignon are all readily available alongside specialty fruit wines and ports. The diversity of wines and spectacular natural backdrop make the Peel the perfect place to find a top drop and local growers are a welcoming bunch who are more then happy to talk you through the history of their vines or educate the novice into a connoisseur at the many cellar door sales and wine tastings on offer.
