World Wide Plein Air Paint Out
Outdoor painters are invited to paint in Mandurah on 12 and 13 September as part of the 18th International Plein Air Painters Worldwide Paint Out. Some of the area’s most talented outdoor painters will bring their paint boxes and easels to Mandurah’s eastern foreshore over these two days.
Artists of all skill levels and mediums can take part in this free event, which runs from 11 am till 3pm each day.
Bring your own paints and materials and join the fun. All ages are welcome and the public will be able to watch individual artists work, moving from painter to painter throughout the day.
Plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air”. Plein air artists seek the quality of natural light and atmosphere outdoors and their work is in direct response to the beauty they find in nature. A variety of mediums is used, from oils through to watercolours and pastels.
This event is happening simultaneously across the world, and Mandurah’s event has the support of the International Plein Air Painters, the local Mandurah Plein Air Artists (Inc) and other painting enthusiasts.
If you like plein air painting, you won’t want to miss Mandurah’s upcoming outdoor painting festival, Plein Air Down Under on 26, 27 and 28 September.
